National Remodeler of the Year Award: Residential Addition

President Kent Tsui with Minnesota Chapter Director Beatrice Owen

Holy smokes! We’re proud to share that one of our recent projects has received a National Remodeler of the Year (RotY) Award from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry in the Residential Addition $250,000–$500,000 category. The award was presented at the national ceremony in Tempe, Arizona, and represents one of the highest levels of recognition in the remodeling industry.

About the Project

This project focused on creating a main-floor addition that allows the homeowners to stay in the home and neighborhood they love while improving how the space functions in their day-to-day lives.

The addition includes:

  • A new primary suite on the main level

  • A universally designed bathroom

  • Improved layout and flow between existing and new spaces

Every decision was made to ensure the addition felt like a natural extension of the home—not an afterthought.

Recognized for Universal Design

In addition to the national award, this project also received a Regional RotY Award for Universal Design – Bath.

The bathroom was designed to support long-term usability while maintaining a clean, cohesive look. Features include:

  • A curbless shower

  • Wider doorways

  • A layout that allows for ease of movement

The goal was simple: create a space that works well now and continues to work in the future.

Why This Matters

The RotY Awards are judged by industry professionals from across the country and evaluate projects based on design, execution, and overall quality. Being recognized at the national level reflects the strength of the project, the collaboration with our clients, and the work of our team and trade partners.

A Final Note

We’re incredibly grateful to our clients for trusting us with their home, and to our team and trade partners who brought every detail to life. Awards are an honor. But creating spaces that truly work for the people who live in them—that’s the part that matters most.

See It in Person

This home will be featured on the MSP Home Tour on May 2–3, 2026.
